NEWS FLASH!!! FASTSIGNS of Greenville is now selling direct-to-garment printed clothing. We are capable of printing custom garments at up to 600 dpi in a full color process. Our new machine, the Brother GT-541 is considered one of the best in the industry. We generally recommend printing to white or light colored cotton-based garments as the GT-541 is not capable of printing white. Once the design or message is printed to the garment it is fused to the fiber using a heat press. Since the ink is fused to the fiber, it will not crack or peel off. The image will fade slightly with the first few washing but will last as long as the shirt itself. Because set up is relatively simple we can print one custom garment or hundreds.

Direct-to-Garment (DTG) printing is a great new means for printing a business logo, a photo, a graphic image or text on t-shirts or sweat shirts for business or personal applications. DTG is ideal for small businesses or organizations, ones with a few employees and a desire to build morale or promote their products and services. Individuals who want wonderful novelty t-shirts and sweat shirts for birthdays, anniversaries, reunions or any occasion can also benefit from DTG, which will turn a custom designed t-shirt into a memory that lasts forever.
Our Brother GT-541 is considered one of the best DTG machines in the industry. It works best on white and light colored 100% cotton shirts but can also print on cotton/poly blends. The print will never crack or peel, and although it will fade a bit over time, it does so gently with the natural aging of the shirt. The GT-541 does not print white ink as some other machines do. For midrange color clothing, such as orange and royal blue, we recommend sticking with darker print colors (like black). The print areas and locations vary according to garment size, with a maximum print area of 14” x 16”.
The cost is surprisingly affordable because the process is so quick and easy!
DTG is different from silk screening because it brings affordability to those who want to print limited quantities of custom garment designs. There's no minimum order. You can print from one custom garment to hundreds! For smaller production runs, DTG offers tremendous advantages over silk screen printing, such as little-to-no set up fees, the ability to reproduce photographic images and faster production.
File preparation: • 150-300 dpi CMYK file. Files can be PNG, AI, EPS, PSD, PDF,TIFF,JPG with no compression
• Photoshop or PSP 150-300 dpi RGB file. Must purge layers and text and save out with LZW to reduce file size
• Artwork should be created in 150-300 dpi. (converting a 72 dpi image to 300 will cause distortion of the image.)
