Charitable Organizations

One of the many passions we have is giving back to the community. We have been supporters of local charitable organizations and wonderful causes over the years such as:

W.E. Care For Kids:
The W.E. Care For Kids Campaign, initiated in 1997 by Dr. Joe Galiwango, Bill Micelli and Alan Defoe, began as a local fundraising campaign in support of Pediatric Programs at Hôtel-Dieu Grace Hospital, Leamington District Memorial Hospital and Windsor Regional Hospital.

The funds raised by this campaign are used to support local pediatric care programs and to enable us to treat our children within our own community. Having a child that is ill is devastating. Having to leave your community for treatment in another city, without family and friends for support, is tragic. Please work with us to keep our kids at home.

CIBC Run For The Cure:Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure is Canada's largest single day, volunteer-led fundraising event dedicated to raising funds for breast cancer research, and education and awareness programs. It was created by a small group of volunteers who wanted to raise awareness and funds for the cause. The first event took place in Toronto in 1992 where over 1,500 participants raised $85,000.

Last year, support of the Run for the Cure grew stronger, with record-breaking dollars raised and unwavering corporate and volunteer support.  In 60 communities, more than 170,000 supporters united as runners, walkers, donors, volunteers and partners, to raise $33 million. The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation is extremely grateful for this support and is honoured to be entrusted by the nation to continue to lead the way in creating a future without breast cancer.

Raise A Reader:
Postmedia Raise-a-Reader is a year-round initiative that raises funds for family literacy programs across the country. More than $17-million has been generated since the program's national launch in 2002. With the support of 27 newspapers from coast-to-coast, they also try to educate Canadians about literacy issues and how improved literacy levels have a positive impact on our country's economy and social well-being.

Sparky`s Toy Drive:
Sparky`s Toy Drive is a wonderful event held by Windsor`s Firefighters. They collect toys for children and teens throughout Fall and Winter leading up to Christmas where the toys are handed out to children who might otherwise not get that special gift they were hoping for.
