FASTSIGNS Glendale, WI Location Supports Susan G. Komen for the Cure

In this season of giving, we wanted to highlight the great work FASTSIGNS of Glendale, Wisconsin has done in the fight against cancer.

“My family lost a loved one to breast cancer, and we wanted to get involved,” said Center Owner Robb Schmit.

The Milwaukee-based FASTSIGNS location is a partner with the Southeast Wisconsin Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Up to 75 percent of the Affiliate’s net income goes toward funding grants to local hospitals and community organizations that provide breast health education and breast cancer screening and treatment programs for medically underserved women. The remaining net income supports the national Komen Grants Program.

The Glendale location was a Passion Sponsor for the Susan G. Komen – Race for the Cure 2011. They provided a variety of banners, A-frame stands and other visual communications materials for the event at a discounted rate.

Glendale FASTSIGNS also produced the A-frame signs for the ribbon art.

But the signs were only part of the support for the Race for the Cure. The store is also using its Facebook page to promote matching donations. The campaign is titled “Like it. Share it. Cure it.” For every “Like” the Facebook page receives, the Glendale store will donate an additional dollar, up to $2,000. Visit the page now to help support breast cancer research!

The Glendale location also worked with Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital to create a custom vehicle wrap for their mobile mammography bus. This customized vehicle helps spread the word about the importance of early detection as it makes its rounds across the Milwaukee area.
