Q&A with Dan & Naomi Stutzman, FASTSIGNS® Franchisees
For 14 years, Dan & Naomi Stutzman were independent sign shop owners. They were successful, but knew there was even more growth opportunity in their market. In 2007, they became FASTSIGNS franchisees and today say it was the best decision they ever made.
Q: What were you doing before FASTSIGNS?
A: We were a typical independent sign business with aqueous digital printing and a 48" vinyl plotter.
Q: How is life different now that you're FASTSIGNS franchisee?
A: Less stress! Now we have help with marketing, finances, legal questions and training. We start our day in a positive way because there's a team of successful, knowledgeable and caring individuals supporting us. And we rest better at night!
Q: How has your business benefited since you joined FASTSIGNS?
A: We thought we were receiving rock bottom pricing already but as soon as we joined FASTSIGNS, we immediately saw better prices, even from existing vendors. Also, within a year we received a job from a national developer to do change outs on 175 banks. As an independent we never would have had that opportunity!
Q: Why was conversion a good fit for you?
A: We feel that we have hired the best sign business consulting firm in the country. Plus, our center's public image is more respected, which will also give our business more value when we are ready to move on. It's hard to place a dollar figure on it, but that is perhaps one of the most valuable of considerations for an independent sign shop.
