Naperville FASTSIGNS® Takes Home Honors at FASTSIGNS Annual Convention
(Naperville, Ill.) February 20, 2007 ? The FASTSIGNS® sign and graphics center in Naperville received multiple awards at the 2007 FASTSIGNS International, Inc. convention held recently in Colorado Springs.
The center's customer service representative, Tracy Hodge, received an "Outstanding Sales Recognition" award for achieving the second highest sales of a FASTSIGNS center employee in the Midwestern U.S., said Trent Lensch, vice president of operations for FASTSIGNS International.
In addition, Mike Bowers, the manager of the sign and graphics center, received a top managerial award. Franchisees and FASTSIGNS International staff make nominations for the "Manager Recognition" award based on the center manager's level of responsibility, leadership, team development and overall accountability for profitable store operation.
"Tracy and Mike are both tremendous assets to the center," said owner Shane Beard. "They help keep things running smoothly and I greatly appreciate their hard work and efforts in remaining committed to good customer service—they deserve to be recognized for that."
Beard also received special recognition at the convention for his service as a member of FASTSIGNS National Advertising Council (NAC). Elected to the 6 member council by his peers, he represents the Midwestern U.S. by providing strategic direction for the development of services, programs and materials that benefit the North American FASTSIGNS system, said Drue Townsend, senior vice president of marketing for FASTSIGNS International when presenting the award.
"I've benefited tremendously from being part of the FASTSIGNS franchise network and am happy to be able to give back to the system as a member of the NAC," said Beard who will continue to serve on the NAC in 2007.

National Advertising Council

January 2, 2008 - Shane Beard, owner of the Naperville FASTSIGNS® sign and graphics center, is preparing to serve his second year of a two-year term, representing the Midwest area, on the National Advertising Council (NAC) for FASTSIGNS International, Inc., a worldwide sign and graphics franchisor.
As a member of the NAC, Beard is one of six elected representatives who work with franchisor FASTSIGNS International, Inc. to provide strategic direction for the development of marketing and advertising services, programs and materials that benefit the over 475 North American FASTSIGNS centers.
Beard opened his FASTSIGNS center in 1996, and has been an involved owner and mentor to many other franchisees throughout the network. His center is an award-winning business within the Naperville community, and his employees have been repeatedly recognized within the FASTSIGNS organization as significant contributors.
Beard was elected to the NAC in 2007 and immersed himself in his role of representing other FASTSIGNS owners. "I was part of the decision to refocus our advertising efforts towards a common theme which included television/cable advertising, direct mail and web activity," said Beard on what he accomplished during his first year on the NAC. "On a regional basis, I communicated the NAC's decisions to the 110 centers in the Midwest and encouraged these owners to align their local efforts with the national campaign."
As he begins his second year on the NAC, his focus is just as concentrated both at the local and national levels to help his fellow franchisees succeed. "I believe we should continue to echo our local efforts to that of our national advertising campaign. It is vital to reach out and gather feedback from my constituents on how we can adjust our national programs to fit their needs locally."
Beard definitely sees his service on the NAC as one that has helped him become a better business owner. "I now understand the power in marketing your business. But above all, I have gained tremendous knowledge in understanding how the decisions we make impact and influence other owners' successes."

Attention! 'Moving Billboards' on the Road
