FASTSIGNS® of Broken Arrow, OK was recognized at the 2021 Virtual FASTSIGNS®/SIGNWAVE® International Convention for their contribution to their local community as a part of the FASTSIGNS Cares program. As a result, they have been gifted with $1000.00 to donate to their charity of choice.
In 2020, FASTSIGNS® of Broken Arrow, OK volunteered and supported a variety of charities including local churches, museums and other local non-profit organizations. One community initiative that they assisted with in 2020 came on the heels of the tragic death of Sergeant Craig Johnson and his colleague, Officer Aurash Zarkeshan, who was in critical condition. FASTSIGNS® of Broken Arrow, OK was approached by friends and family of Sgt. Craig Johnson to produce signs that would line his family's street showing their support.
After FASTSIGNS provided the family with two versions of Back the Blue signs, they then began creating replicas of these signs for the community to purchase and show their support for local law enforcement. The signs displaying support for men and women in blue were sold and net proceeds from the signs were directed to the Tulsa Fraternal Order of Police Benevolence Fund that assists law enforcement and their families.
“We were happy to provide an opportunity for community members, businesses and organizations to support officers and their families in a time of need in 2020,” said Jay Matlock, franchisee at FASTSIGNS® of Broken Arrow, OK. “It’s encouraging to see a community rally together to support some of its own.”
Broken Arrow is home to many incredible charitable organizations, which means that spreading goodwill throughout the community is important. Because of the impact that COVID-19 has had on the Broken Arrow school system, FASTSIGNS decided to support Broken Arrow Public Schools with their recognition check. They will be donating the funds directly to the Broken Arrow Public Schools (BAPS) Foundation, which upholds the mission and purpose to enhance the educational experience of Broken Arrow students for success in life.
