Learn how to prepare your file for print!
File Preparation Guidelines
We will accept a wide range of computer files. The following guidelines will help ensure that we can reproduce your files accurately.
PLATFORM
Mac or Windows
IMAGES
Vector (AI, EPS, & PDF) are almost always scalable. Raster (or pixel) images are not scalable without the image being affected in some way. For the highest quality raster images possible, they should be at a resolution of 100-150 DPI - at FINAL size. Also, don’t forget to include any placed or linked graphics that you use. Linked image files should follow the guidelines stated above. To further ensure your final product looks correct, you could always fax or bring in a hard copy of your file.
*WEBSITE GRAPHICS ARE ALMOST ALWAYS UNUSABLE.
Graphics retrieved from websites are created at too low of a resolution and at too small of a size to reproduce satisfactorily.
FONTS
Convert type in your project to outlines, curves or paths; or include the fonts with your project.
COLOR
We work in a CMYK workspace and we utilize Pantone (PMS) Coated Color Matching System. If you must have a specific color match, please let us know when the order is placed. Exact color matching is not always possible, but we will work with you to make sure you are pleased with the final result. Please keep in mind that all printers and
monitors are not the same, and therefore will not always match each other exactly.
FINAL PREPARATION
Please double-check your file for the following:
- Resolution/Size
- Color
- Spelling (names, languages, etc)
- Pantone Coated Colors (if applicable)
