Client Spotlight: Seven Questions With Katherine Martin From Perimeter Development.

Author: FASTSIGNS® of Kitchener-Waterloo

Our team has been very hard at work on 305 KING, and I had the pleasure of speaking with Katherine Martin, the Assistant Property Manager, from Perimeter Development.

Question One: Tell me a little bit about yourself! How long have you been with the company? What do you like to do outside of work?

I joined Perimeter Development in 2013 when the company was fairly young - starting out in office administration and working my way up to my current position as an Assistant Property Manager.

Outside of work, I love to spend time in nature - kayaking, hiking and camping, working in my flower gardens in the summer and spending time with my family and friends.  I love listening to music and you will never come to my home without hearing my favorite songs playing in the background!

Question Two: Tell us a little bit about 305 King street?

305 KING is a 12-storey office building located in the heart of the innovation district in Downtown Kitchener.  Perimeter has transformed this 1960’s building into a modern, sought-after location with the most amazing city views from the large floor-to-ceiling windows (especially Victoria Park in the fall!).  Cyclone Spin Studio, Café Pyrus and Underground Flavor Group Pop-Up Lounge are all located in the ground floor of 305 KING and bring a really great energy to the block.

Question Three: How were you involved with this project?

As Assistant Property Manager, I was responsible for selecting and working with a sign company to ensure that the designs and vision of the Interior Designer came to life in the elevator lobbies at 305 KING.

Question Four: What are some of your highlights of the project so far?

It’s been an amazing experience to see the transformation of each lobby since having the new graphics and colorful directory boards installed on each floor.  What were previously bland and uninteresting walls have been redesigned as a bright, cheerful and energetic welcome when the elevator doors open!

Question Five: Were there any challenges? How did you overcome them?

Unfortunately, just as the final designs and colors were being finalized, the first wave of COVID hit which slowed the progress considerably.  However, Rob and his team continued to provide assistance and work with us throughout the shut-down, working behind the scenes to have the colored directory boards designed and prepared for when installation could finally take place.

Questions Six: How did FASTSIGNS help you achieve your goals?

Rob was instrumental in assisting with arranging for samples of the colored directory boards and providing his knowledge and expertise with helpful advice and suggestions. I’m thrilled to see it all come to life!

Question Seven: Is there anything else you want to tell our readers?

I would without hesitation recommend FASTSIGNS for any project, big or small.  I have personally worked with Rob for quite a few years now and have always found that he and his entire team are extremely helpful and a joy to work with.  I have no doubt that Perimeter and FASTSIGNS will continue to work together long into the future!
