our products, services, time and talents with non-profit organizations
in our community, we believe our efforts can greatly help our community
by raising awareness of the non-profit organization.
About the Campaign
FASTSIGNS® of Winchester launched the local Signs of Need Campaign in 2015. Each year a different non-profit is selected, who meets the criteria set forth by the Campaign, to receive an undisclosed amount of in-kind products and services created by FASTSIGNS® of Winchester. Nominations are voted on by FASTSIGNS® employees and the selected recipient receives in-kind products and services for one year.

2018-2019 Beneficiary
The Kids Clubs of Northern Shenandoah Valley
The Kids Clubs of Northern Shenandoah Valley was originally founded in 1995 as Caretakers Afterschool Program. In response to the growing number of members and the positive impact on children, the organization partnered with Boys & Girls Clubs of America and became Boys & Girls Club of Northern Shenandoah Valley (BGCNSV) - Caretakers Unit in 2004. In 2017, the organization discontinued its affiliation with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America and became an independent organization. With a full-service club and after-school programs, the organization is one of the largest of its kind in the Shenandoah Valley, serving 200+ members annually.

Concern Hotline
Concern Hotline was conceived in 1968 by a small group of people who were concerned about the high suicide rate in Winchester. It was not only the highest in the state but was more than double the national average. Those concerned individuals - including Dr. Kic Kiczales, Judge Henry Whiting, and Bettie Johnston - formed a task force to study the problem and develop a support service for people considering suicide. In April 1970, Concern Hotline went into service for the City of Winchester, as well as Frederick and Clarke counties. In 1978, the Northwestern Community Services Board awarded Concern Hotline the contract to provide 24-hour crisis intervention service to the City of Winchester and Frederick, Clarke, Warren, Shenandoah, and Page counties. The mission of Concern Hotline is to comfort and calm community members experiencing stress or crisis by providing a trained, compassionate listener 24 hours a day.

2016-2017 Beneficiary
Families Reaching Out Group, or F.R.O.G., is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of children who have been victims of abuse or neglect, or those who are at risk or in need. F.R.O.G. strives to help these children adapt to new living situations and to let each child feel as though they are cared for. By local donations, Families Reaching Out Group and Froggy's Closet have been able to provide clothing, haircuts, and school supplies, as well as give gifts, send children to summer camp, and even throw holiday parties for children in our community who otherwise would not have had these opportunities. F.R.O.G. is an investment in the children of our community, and Froggy's Closet is always accepting donations at the Downtown Winchester, Virginia location.

2015-2016 Beneficiary
The Free Medical Clinic's mission is to provide the gift of health to those
in need and are dedicated to the belief that everyone should have access
to health care services. The Free Medical Clinic serves residents of Winchester,
Frederick County, and Clarke County who have no health insurance and meet
income requirements based on the Federal Poverty Level.

Community Events
Love Knows Your Name - As part of the Signs of Need project, during the Thanksgiving holiday
our center closes early for a Thanksgiving staff lunch and to assemble
hygiene bags for the homeless. It’s a great team building event
and a way of giving back to our community even more.
