Local FASTSIGNS Recognized for Charitable Work in 2023

FASTSIGNS of Dallas, Texas - Love Field donates $1,000 to All Things Made New

(DALLAS, Texas) April 24, 2024 — FASTSIGNS® of Dallas, Texas - Love Field, a locally owned and operated sign and graphics provider, was recently recognized at the 2024 FASTSIGNS International Convention for their giveback work and support of All Things Made New, a nonprofit organization based in Irving, Texas. As a result, the center was given a check to donate to their charity of choice, and they directed the funds back to this local organization.

FASTSIGNS began working with All Things Made New in 2017 when Shelly Williams, a business manager at FASTSIGNS, first started volunteering. She soon encouraged others to do the same.

“I feel passionate about mentoring others, because they are the legacy we are leaving behind,” shared Williams. “As someone who lost my parents at a very young age, I know the challenges of not knowing where to turn. I’ve witnessed first-hand the impact this organization makes in the lives of young people such as increasing confidence, helping them with social skills and giving them a safe space to belong against the backdrop of life’s difficulties.”

All Things Made New is a nonprofit that mentors students grades 5-12. Their mission is to provide mentorship, character development and life skills training for youth to lead fulfilling and rewarding lives. All Things Made New aims to build strong character traits and motivate middle school and high school students to be goal oriented as they transition into adulthood.

Last year, the organization sent 35 teens to summer camp at Sky Ranch and provided social etiquette classes during spring break. The nonprofit now has an afterschool drop-in center, and they continue to provide year-round individual and small group mentoring for character and life skills development.

"At All Things Made New, we are dedicated to creating a safe space where we can listen to their stories, believe in their potential and encourage them to dream, ensuring they feel supported and not alone," said All Things Made New Executive Director Michelle Flores. "By meeting them where they are, offering mentoring and support, we walk alongside them through their journey and empower them to take positive risks. Our approach fosters trust and prevents them from falling through the cracks, making it a truly rewarding experience."

FASTSIGNS actively supports All Things Made New by offering signage discounts and volunteering, social media promotion and more. In 2023, they helped support the nonprofit's 10th anniversary and provided cost-effective signage solutions including promotion of free summer programs for unhoused families.

“Signage from FASTSIGNS has been a game-changer for us,” said Flores. “When we’ve been given the opportunity to showcase our organization, it was impactful to have visuals. They have helped us create a better framework for telling the story of what our organization does.”
