Museum of Science and Technology (MOST)
Igniting Curiosity: The MOST’s Journey to Inspire Future Innovators
The Challenge:
The Museum of Science and Technology (MOST) had faced challenges and closed its doors during the pandemic. After receiving government funds and a substantial sponsorship from Micron Technology, the museum aimed to create an exhibit that would inspire youth to pursue careers in science and technology. The museum also needed to showcase its value to potential local sponsors through compelling visual communications.
The Solution:
The comprehensive solution included 50 hours of dedicated design services as well as changeable graphic systems. Through close collaboration with the MOST and Micron representatives, the team at FASTSIGNS designed and installed signs for the Micron exhibit. The project went beyond this exhibit and included the installation of Lindspring banner frame systems on the building’s historic exterior, preserving the brickwork while offering the flexibility to easily update oversized sponsor visuals. The large-scale project encompassed floor graphics, wall graphics, custom printed and routed acrylic and PVC display pieces, backlit exhibit signs, outdoor banners and frame systems and an outdoor kiosk. The Onondaga County Resource Recovery Agency exhibit inside the museum was another aspect of the project, and FASTSIGNS played a pivotal role from its creation to the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The Result:
The efforts not only supported the Micron objective but also attracted multiple donors, enhancing the museum’s ability to engage with Syracuse’s youth and the broader community. Through their partnership approach, the team at FASTSIGNS was positioned as MOST’s main visual solutions provider. The visual storytelling and innovative displays have also increased traffic to the MOST, elevated its visibility, and brought the museum’s brand and mission to life, ensuring a lasting impact on future generations of scientists and technologists.
