Eaton Elementary School
When Nostalgic Simplicity Inspires a School’s Signage Transformation
The Challenge:
Eaton Elementary, part of an award-winning school district with five schools, faced the unique challenge of converting an existing middle school into a vibrant elementary school. They wanted to create signage that echoed the playful essence of childhood, with designs reminiscent of wooden blocks. The project required signs that not only matched the architect’s vision but also adhered to the uneven walls of the building.
The Solution:
In close collaboration with the architect and general contractor, FASTSIGNS brought the wooden aesthetic to life through wayfinding visuals. The FASTSIGNS team innovated to ensure the signs would lay flush and remain secure. Color and finish samples on wood substrate achieved the precise look the architect envisioned. This large-scale project demanded the full spectrum of FASTSIGNS’ expertise, from design to installation. A wide array of visuals included illuminated channel letters for the school name, dimensional aluminum numbers, a monument sign with a digital sign incorporated into it, a dedication plaque, vinyl graphics and custom routed wood and acrylic wall graphics. Each element was color- coded for easy navigation, enhancing the educational environment for students, parents and visitors alike.
The Result:
A comprehensive signage solution brought the school’s brand to life and transformed Eaton Elementary School into a welcoming and functional space for education. The architect praised the quality of the end product, and the construction company has since engaged FASTSIGNS for additional projects, recognizing the value in their exceptional design, fabrication, installation and project management over the 12-month period. The team overcame structural challenges to produce a cohesive and engaging environment for all who enter the school through innovative design and meticulous project management.
