FASTSIGNS® of Ventura, CA was recently recognized for their community giveback efforts at the 2021 Virtual FASTSIGNS International Convention. As a result, FASTSIGNS® of Ventura, CA will receive a $1,000 check to donate to their charity of choice, the Rotary Club of Ventura.
A member of the Rotary Club of Ventura for the last 11 years, FASTSIGNS® of Ventura, CA franchisee, Saurabh Bajaj, joined the club as a way to serve his community, to network with community leaders and make new personal and business connections. Saurabh has always been an engaged member of the cluband in recent years, he joined the all volunteer club’s board of directors. As President Elect in 2019/20, he engaged in intensive training which further honed his leadership and communication skills and created a larger network within the County and Rotary District.
Bajaj’s FASTSIGNS business supports the Rotary’s causes in a myriad of ways including donations of funds, signs and providing discounts. They also sponsored signage for the Ronald McDonald Walk which raises funds to bring a Family Room to the local hospital and creating signs and acting as a dropoff location for Coats for Kids. They also supported the Club’s Picnic for Polio with free signs, donations, event organization and ticket sales, helping them exceed their goal.
“The experience of being involved with this club has been incredibly enriching as it has led to new friendships, customers and strategic initiatives to make a difference where I live and work,” said Saurabh Bajaj.
As the current 2020/2021 club President, Saurabh provides tremendous leadership during these uncertain times ensuring that members stay connected, participate in weekly zoom meetings, and donate time and money to support local efforts in the areas of food insecurity, education, PPE, job training, acknowledging essential workers, supporting local businesses and much more. FASTSIGNS also promotes the club in the business community through the chamber and provides marketing and communications support to the club through graphics, managing the social media accounts and more.
“Our team loves making a difference in our community, and we love to volunteer our time and encourage others in the community to do the same,” said Bajaj.
During the pandemic, the team created Rotary Masks that the club was able to sell as a fundraiser. They also created signs of encouragement as small, local businesses reopened and recognized essential workers through social media, signage and gifts. In addition, when a Rotary Foundation grant could no longer be fulfilled due to COVID restrictions, the team successfully applied for the funds that were then redirected to a student-led nonprofit. These Stembassadors were making and donating face shields to local hospitals when PPE was in limited supply.
“It is an incredible honor for our Center to serve our community through Rotary Club of Ventura. The Club has a rich history of serving Ventura for over 100 years from basic needs like food and clothing, to engaging young people in a scholarship program that promotes their views on peace and much more,” said Bajaj. “Especially during these uncertain times, our FASTSIGNS business lives the Rotary motto of ‘Service Above Self.’
