Local Business Creates Project to Commemorate Students of Various Ages

(BLOOMINGTON, IN) May 12, 2020—FASTSIGNS® of Bloomington franchisee, Michael Richardson believes in supporting his community and decided to make a difference with signs for High school, 8th Grade and 6th Grade students. The signs sell at $15 for a single-sided sign plus the stake, and $5 of every sign sold will be donated to the Foundation for Monroe County Community Schools.

Through Facebook, Michael and his team reached out to the principals they knew in the school system, and a parent Facebook group at one of the high schools' was instrumental in spreading the word.

FASTSIGNS used a custom Google form for community members to place orders. They also included a section in the form that allowed for an additional donation to go toward a free sign for those that could not afford one. Any remaining funds from this were sent directly to the MCCSC Foundation.

FASTSIGNS has received requests for about 50 free signs to be paid for by the extra donations. They have currently sold over 600 signs and raised approx. $4300 that will be donated to the MCCSC Foundation.

“For our smaller city, I would consider this a huge success,” said Michael Richardson, franchisee at FASTSIGNS. “We are thankful to have the opportunity to contribute to the MCCSC Foundation that helps out local students in so many ways.”
