(COLUMBIA, MO) March 19, 2020 — FASTSIGNS® of Columbia, MO was recognized at the 2020 FASTSIGNS International Convention through the FASTSIGNS Cares initiative for their extensive work with Children’s Miracle Network.
Children’s Miracle Network seeks to provide the best care for kids. Its various fundraising partners and programs support the nonprofit's mission to save and improve the lives of as many children as possible. In an effort to effect positive change with Children’s Miracle Network and specifically children with Deformational Plagiocephaly, the team at FASTSIGNS® of Columbia, MO began creating cranial helmet wraps.
The team works hand in hand with parents throughout the process. They meet with the parents, design the wrap, install the wrap and donate the custom cranial helmet wrap for these babies diagnosed with Pediatric Deformational Plagiocephaly. This project allows the parents to feel more comfortable with their child in a cranial helmet.
One touching story involved a grandfather picking up the helmet for a grandchild. When he looked into B.J. Hunter’s eyes, the tears poured out. The grandfather shared that this was the most awesome act of kindness he had ever seen.
“We have gotten so much positive response on these. Seeing the smile on the parent’s face when they leave with the helmet makes everything worth it. We can see how much it’s appreciated,” said B.J. Hunter, franchisee at FASTSIGNS® of Columbia, MO.
The initiative has grown outside of FASTSIGNS® of Columbia, MO as B.J. Hunter has also been contacted by several FASTSIGNS centers to set up proofs for creating the helmets in their centers as well.
“We have come up with some amazing designs, and we are making a lot of happy families in the process,” Hunter said.
