Stunning 38,000 Sq. Ft. Transformation Inspires Campus and Community Buzz

The Challenge:

The University of Montana, a top-tier research institution and alma mater of 29 Rhodes Scholars, inherited a visual communications challenge and needed to quickly create custom visuals for a 38,000-square-foot, multi-level space. The project also included a 60-day time crunch and design specifications from the architects that still needed finalization.

The Solution:

Ready and willing to take on the challenge, FASTSIGNS® provided a high level of professionalism and creativity, which helped ease all stakeholder concerns. The varied architectural hurdles in the multi-level space as well as each sign’s customized requirements, complicated installation and application surfaces presented significant challenges, but FASTSIGNS was able to employ cohesive and striking signage solutions that met all needs. To meet the school’s goals, they implemented carefully detailed and time-sensitive project management strategies. On the exterior, they hung channel letters and a large, dimensional, 11-piece lit bear paw, paying homage to the university’s mascot for impact. For the interior, the team created and installed everything from ADA-compliant braille signage to wall and window graphics. They also employed a combination of lit and non-lit channel and dimensional letters for each custom restaurant, as well as a free-floating, neon skeletonized sign as a statement piece for the school.

The Result:

This new, state-of-the-art dining facility was featured for its creative architectural design and has become a meeting place for students and the community. FASTSIGNS helped bring the vision to life, creating an attractive and welcoming space that boosted student and community engagement.
