FASTSIGNS® of Downtown Birmingham receives HUBZone Certification
(BIRMINGHAM, Ala.) May 9, 2017 – Local business owners Margie and Tom George, who own and operate AccuPrint and FASTSIGNS® of Downtown Birmingham, recently received certification for the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone) Program.
The HUBZone Program helps businesses located in distressed urban and rural communities – historically underutilized business zones – promote economic development and employment growth by providing Federal contracting opportunities for certified participants.
“As downtown residents and business owners, we love to see the city’s revitalization and are committed to helping businesses in the area grow,” said Margie George. “Through the HUBZone Program, we will continue to expand, create jobs and offer even more value to existing and potential customers.”
For nearly 20 years, the Georges have owned their commercial printing business, AccuPrint, located at 2023 1st Ave. in the heart of downtown where they live in a renovated loft above the business. In 2015, they decided to expand their business and diversify their product offering by opening a FASTSIGNS co-brand location in the same building.
