We are very excited to shine a client spotlight on Amanda Allen. Amanda has been working very hard on the opening of her new store in Kitchener. This is a new location for Dab Glass. I had the pleasure of speaking with Amanda about this new store, and learning more about this exciting new project.
Question One: Tell me a little bit about yourself! How long have you been with the company? What do you like to do outside of work?
My partner and I started our company in 2015 - and I've been working for us ever since! I was in University for a little bit at the beginning, but then started working full time in 2016. When I'm not at the shop, I'm doing custom glass paintings.
Question Two: Tell us a little bit about Dab Glass.
Dab Glass was created so we could bring all the best glass artists (around Canada and the USA) and 420 gear and accessories together in one convenient spot for people in the city. We love our first three shops (Savour the Vapour) and we wanted to expand into something different and fun for the fourth!
Question Three: How were you involved with this project?
I completed everything for Dab Glass from the ground up. From the website, to purchasing, designing, you name it!
Question Four: What are some of your highlights of the project so far?
So far, since we have opened, we've had a great response from people and customers! We have made new connections, and started to create a growing customer base - and it's all happening faster than we imagined! The whole thing has been one big highlight in my opinion.
Question Five: Were there any challenges? How did you overcome them?
There are always challenges when opening a new store. Especially one that we hadn't explored before; but I always make sure I research for a long time and cover all my bases to ensure we have built something that is impressive. Overall, we didn't have too many challenges that we couldn't handle.
Questions Six: How did FASTSIGNS® of Kitchener-Waterloo help you achieve your goals?
FASTSIGNS® of Kitchener-Waterloo helped us to ensure that we were informed, and making the right decisions when it came to technical & design aspects involved with our signage. The whole team stayed in contact throughout the process, which took the stress off of us while we focused on a number of other tasks. Overall, a very informative and professional set of people that added to our success.
