In honor of Veteran's Day, two local Dothan businesses that have come together to honor veterans. FASTSIGNS® of Dothan, AL recently assisted the Joseph M. Farley Nuclear Plant in creating a Veteran’s Wall to honor their current and past employees.

Speaking to a room full of Plant Farley employees who all served in the military, Site Vice President Chuck Kharrl, a U.S. Navy veteran himself, spoke about experiences they all share. “We are bound together because we raised our hands and agreed to fight for our country. That’s not something any of us take lightly. That part about being a veteran is the most precious part of the whole experience and all of you did that. I thank you for your service and commitment.”

This project hit close to home for Shane Jeter, franchisee at FASTSIGNS® of Dothan, AL, who has both family in the military as well as a veteran on staff who designed and installed the Veteran’s Wall. A customer for several years, the nuclear plant has enlisted FASTSIGNS’ help in the past for projects including banners, posters, vinyl projects and more.

The wall honors 118 who served from all four branches of the military, and FASTSIGNS also included room for growth to add more names in the future. One impactful detail involves the shadow box on the wall that holds the actual flag flown on September 11th at the Pentagon.

“The military is a big part of our community,” said Jeter. “We were happy to play a role in recognizing their contribution to our freedom. It was truly an honor to be tasked with this project, and we wanted to go over the top. I believe we helped them accomplish this impactful way to commemorate their employees.”
