Service Spotlight - Sign Installation

Our project managers can guide you from idea to permitting to finished sign. We install all types of signs, LED sign lighting, acrylic barriers and banners. Below are a few of the more common signs we install.

INTERIOR DIMENSIONAL LETTERS INSTALLED

First impressions are everything. Nothing welcomes someone to your business like dimensional letters. Brushed aluminum dimensional letters are a favorite cost-efficient and high-end look, but we also love second surface acrylic letters and mixed media signs with different materials. Dimensional letters installed using a printed pattern and commercial adhesive tape, silicone and studs, sometimes called pins. You can add many interesting features to dimensional letters. Spacers are great to add more dimension and deal with a rough or textured wall. For a really finished look, you can add LED lighting or spotlight them. CABINET SIGN INSTALLATIONS

Cabinet signs are very popular for street signage. The cabinets are typically aluminum and we can paint them custom colors. The sign faces might be acrylic or polycarbonate. Plexiglass is a brand of acrylic and Lexan is a brand of polycarbonate. Due to Cincinnati's weather, we recommend polycarb sign faces. Colder weather can cause acrylic to crack and even shatter in the wind. Acrylic is fine for some small tenant panels. Sign faces should be thick enough to prevent the "oil can" effect where they sink in the middle, so ask about the thickness. Thinner sign faces save some money up front, but end up costing more in the long run. Most are illuminated with LED lighting. We can convert older signage with LED conversion kits. This reduces the electricity cost and need to replace bulbs. Finally, we recommend translucent vinyl for better performance when the sign is illuminate. We can digitally print on translucent media or use cut translucent vinyls. Digital prints are great for custom colors, shading and images. Cut vinyl provides the best performance over time. CUSTOM CHANNEL LETTER INSTALLATIONS

Channel letters are also internally illuminated but have the added advantage of custom letter and logo shapes. Channel letters are very popular in retail developments. One cool channel letter option is day/night vinyl that is a color during the day and is a brilliant illuminated white at night. Many landlords require that channel letters be mounted on a raceway to minimize the damage to the building facade. We can direct mount them to the building for a cleaner look. Channel letters can be front-illuminated and halo-lit. Like most exterior signs, channel letters require a UL sticker, dedicated electrical circuit and shut-off in Ohio.

POST AND PANEL SIGNS

For anyone who grew up on a farm, post holes are a fact of life. Fortunately, we are not stringing miles of fence. We install a lot of construction and commercial real estate post and panel signs. We also use them for street signs, particularly in downtown areas, and for a more traditional-looking sign. Post and panel signs are pretty straightforward. In the Cincinnati area, permanent post and panel signs require a certain depth to get below the frost line and tend to be set in poured concrete. Temporary signs are easy to remove with a simple post puller but will lean and list over time if they are left in longer than expected. See some of our recent post and panel sign projects here.

VINYL GRAPHIC INSTALLATION

Installing vinyl graphics is an art. Each surface and vinyl is different. Even the temperature and humidity change how an installer approaches a job. We install vinyl wall murals, vehicle graphics and decals. There is probably not a surface that we haven't applied vinyl to - walls, doors, floors, basketball courts, stairs, hardhats, cranes, boats, robots, helicopters.... Some vinyl graphics are permanent and others can be removed. We have done walls and stairs for a conference and pulled them up a few days later. We have also put a two-story mural at a local sports area that stayed up for many years. We stock all kinds of vinyl media. Our projects managers can pick the right one for your application. WALL SIGN INSTALLATION

Wall signs or building signs are the workhorse of the sign family. Most are made of aluminum composite material (ACM) or aluminum. Aluminum composite signs are great because they are light and rigid. We also use materials like PVC and even magnetic-receptive steel. Banner is a cost-efficient way to get a sign installed for temporary use. We can safely mount wall signs up to 50 feet high on your building with a bucket truck. See some of our recent wall sign projects here.
