Monument Signs in Seattle

Custom Monument & Free Standing Signs, Designed & Installed by a Local Team

A Monument and Free Standing Sign is one of the most permanent, high-visibility investments a Seattle business can make in its exterior presence. These freestanding structures sit at property entrances, anchored to the ground by a solid base, poles, or pylons rather than attached to a building. Whether it’s dimensional letters flush with a low masonry base or a cabinet mounted on a pylon, the sign tells everyone passing by on foot or by car that your business is here and isn’t going anywhere.

At FASTSIGNS® of Seattle, WA - Queen Anne, we design and install custom Monument and Free Standing Signs for Seattle businesses of all sizes. We’re locally owned and operated, and our 4.8 Google rating reflects the work we do right here in the community.

One Team from Design Through Installation

Most sign projects involve more moving parts than businesses expect: design approvals, permit applications, fabrication, site prep, and installation. Coordinating those steps across separate vendors adds time and creates gaps in accountability. Our team handles all of it, from Graphic Design and Content Development through Survey and Permitting, Project Management, and Installation.

Our visual communication team and graphic designers work directly with you to match your sign to your existing brand identity. Queen Anne Chiropractic Center said it best in their review: our team promptly produced eye-catching outdoor sign options and completed the project quickly, even on a last-minute timeline. That’s the standard we hold ourselves to on every project.

Navigating Seattle’s Monument Sign Permitting

In Seattle, any sign over 5 square feet or connected to electrical power requires a sign permit from the Seattle Department of Construction and Inspections (SDCI). Monument and Free Standing Signs that extend over or occupy the public right-of-way may also require a Public Space Management permit from the Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT), renewed annually, and that permit must be obtained before your SDCI sign permit application. Signs in historic or special review districts need a certificate of approval from the Department of Neighborhoods before a sign permit can be issued. Seattle sign regulations fall under Seattle Municipal Code Title 23, Chapter 23.55, and each sign type carries specific dimensional, illumination, and placement requirements.

Our Survey and Permitting service helps you navigate this process. We assess your site, prepare the documentation, and help you work through the requirements so your project can move forward with fewer unexpected delays.
