Fill a Heart 4 Kids’ event supports local foster children living in group facilities.
(ARLINGTON HEIGHTS/ELK GROVE VILLAGE, IL) May 14, 2020— FASTSIGNS® of Elk Grove Village, IL and FASTSIGNS® of Elk Grove Village, IL are assisting local giveback efforts by creating backdrop banners for the Fill a Heart 4 Kids’ Virtual MadHatter Tea Party set to take place Saturday, May 16 from 3-4 p.m.
With 100 participants expected for the event, the team at Fill a Heart 4 Kids realized they were in need of backdrops behind the Queen of Hearts, Alice, the Mad Hatter and more to ensure a successful virtual event. When they enlisted the help of David Becker, franchisee at FASTSIGNS® of Elk Grove Village, IL and FASTSIGNS® of Elk Grove Village, IL, he quickly jumped to help.
“We’re incredibly grateful to FASTSIGNS with us in National Foster Care Month, and we thank them for supplying the backdrops,” said Annie McAveeney, founder of Fill a Heart 4 Kids. “It is truly heartwarming when businesses and charities come together to help children.”
The event includes a private concert with a celebrity appearance by Chicago native Katie Kadan, of 2019’s The Voice, along with a few of her own special guests. Attendees are encouraged to dress the part and find a magical spot in their home for tea and treats as they will create gifts for the queens in their lives, interact with Alice and her friends and even enjoy surprises along the way while helping children who are living without families.
“We recognize how immense the need is to help foster children, especially during this difficult time,” said David Becker. “The virtual fundraiser is prepped to be an incredible event that will entertain attendees with top-notch talent and bring joy to many.”
Since May is National Foster Care Month, FAH4K will recognize it by giving children living in foster care facilities positive experiences to help them feel loved and remembered - 4 Brighter Futures. Proceeds from the Mad Hatter Tea Party will provide children living in 12 local group facilities with special activities, healing gardens, renovations to facilities so they feel more like a home, tutors and school supplies, and more.
Fill a Heart 4 Kids is also hosting a raffle to win a one-hour private group master class with Katie Kadan. Four musical children will have the rare opportunity to participate together in this one-hour master class. Tickets are $50 each. A random drawing will be held this weekend and winners will be announced on Monday, May 18. Entrants do not have to attend the MadHatter Tea Party to win.
The virtual tea party is appropriate for children ages 4 to 12. To participate, donations begin at $20 per household. The virtual events will continue monthly through July with different themes and activities. Proceeds from these events provide positive experiences and necessities for local foster children living in group facilities.
