How Fastsigns Helped Belgian Nursery Reopen

Author: FASTSIGNS® of Kitchener-Waterloo

Our team has been very hard at work helping Belgian Nursery reopen, and I had the pleasure of speaking with Julie Clancy, the Co-Owner of Belgian Nursery. We spoke about all of the changes that have been made at Belgian Nursery during the pandemic, which will help them re-open safely.

Question One: Tell me a little bit about yourself! How long have you been with the company? What do you like to do outside of work?

My name is Julie Clancy, co-owner of Belgian Nursery in Breslau. I have been part of this family-owned business my whole life, and working full time for over 23 years! I enjoy planning and ordering the acre of annuals that we grow each year, as well as experiencing and facilitating the ebb and flow of the changing seasons. Outside of work I love spending time in my gardens (especially with my banana plants), time with my boys, and Pilates!

Question Two: Tell us a little bit about Belgian Nurseries reopening!

Belgian Nursery is excited to reopen to walk-in customers this October. We have made a few changes to our layout to accommodate better physical distancing and I feel that this has also created a more open feel with better traffic flow. We have modified our hours for the winter months to being open 4 days a week. We also relocated our Decorative Pot Shop and Tropical Houseplants (in small pots) greenhouses. We also revamped the Cactus and Succulent House and added a new Artisan Shoppe featuring local artists and artisans.

Question Three: How were you involved with this project?

I have been involved with this project from the brainstorming phase all the way to the present. It has been very rewarding to see all of our hard work and planning finally come to life.

Question Four: What are some of your highlights of the project so far?

We created a banner for the inside of our main store that turned out fantastic! New hours signs for each of the entrances. As well as the new Artisan Shoppe sign.

Question Five: Were there any challenges? How did you overcome them?

We have a challenging environment for some of the signage. Greenhouses naturally create extreme temperatures and difficult surfaces for signage to bear. FASTSIGNS was helpful in creating quality signs that can handle our unique elements.

Questions Six: How did FASTSIGNS help you achieve your goals?

FASTSIGNS, as its name describes, was FAST! From first contact to meeting onsite to requesting the quote, all the way to having the signs completed and ready to hang. We like to install them ourselves, but appreciate FASTSIGNS’ advice concerning the best methods and tips for installation. It really helped the whole process go smoothly!

Question Seven: Is there anything else you want to tell our readers?

We’ve been working with FASTSIGNS for several years now, and it has always been a pleasure. We hope that our customers will be able to have an enjoyable shopping experience, created in part by the helpful and directional signage placed around our store and greenhouses.
