Military Family Returns to Washington and Opens Local Business

Author: April Angele

(AUBURN, Wash.) – One family’s exit from the military quickly turned into an enlistment in entrepreneurship when they opened FASTSIGNS® of Auburn, their own sign, graphics and visual communications company.

“It was a natural decision for us to return home to South King County, where our military families landed when we were young,” said Patti Worley, who owns FASTSIGNS of Auburn with her husband Frank, who retired after 20 years of service in the Army. “Auburn and its surrounding areas are rapidly growing, and we are excited to be a part of that.”

FASTSIGNS of Auburnis a state-of-the-art visual communication company, allowing the Worleys to produce a wide array of time-tested styles of signs but also more modern options, like architectural, dimensional and even digital signs.

“Deciding to open our own FASTSIGNS here was the perfect answer to our first retirement,” Worley said. “We were looking for something new but that expanded on our experiences and skills and depended on our efforts. We also wanted a business opportunity that our kids would benefit from, since two are just now really focusing on learning about careers and work choices after school.”

Worley said they first noticed FASTSIGNS because of its frequent listing as a veteran friendly franchise. When they were ready to research their options, they met FASTSIGNS franchisees who each told them they would choose FASTSIGNS again because the franchisee support was outstanding.

“From yard signs that welcome back our troops to high-tech digital signs that engage viewers, we have the expertise to deliver some great message options,” said Worley. “We offer traditional signs, but there have been so many developments in materials and even types of signs in just the past few years we knew we needed the strength and quality of a national brand like FASTSIGNS to keep us abreast of the visual communications field.”

Joined by Kyrstyn Burgard, who works full time in graphic design and production, and their two teenagers, who work part time as their school schedules permit, Patti and Frank are eager to show businesses and individuals in the community the capabilities of their FASTSIGNS center.

FASTSIGNS of Auburn is located at 1835 Auburn Way, N, and is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The center provides comprehensive visual communications solutions including wall, window and floor graphics, architectural signs, trade show displays, wayfinding solutions, vehicle wraps, digital signage and more.
