FASTSIGNS of Winchester Recognized for Philanthropic Work

In 2018, Kids Clubs of Northern Shenandoah Valley was chosen as the newest recipient in the Signs of Need Campaign. FASTSIGNS® of Winchester, VA originally launched the Signs of Need Campaign to help a chosen and local  non-profit organization boost community awareness efforts. Each year, a different non-profit is selected who meets the criteria set forth by the Campaign. They receive an undisclosed amount of in-kind products and services created by the center. Nominations are submitted and voted on by FASTSIGNS employees via private ballot and selected recipient receives in-kind products and services for one year beginning June 1.

“We believe our efforts can greatly help our community by helping our customers raise awareness about the need at hand,” said Tracey Quick, franchise owner at FASTSIGNS® of Winchester, VA

The concept behind the Signs of Need campaign originated from Acts 2:44-47: “All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need.” Taking care of their community and the people who reside there, they wanted to create a way to share their faith and their business with the community by donating products, services, time and talents with their customers. They realized there are signs of need everywhere that are often overlooked, and therefore, the Signs of Need Campaign was born in 2014 out of a passion and the yearning to help those in need.

The center has been contributing to charities since 2014 with their first beneficiary as the Winchester Rescue Mission. Past charities have included Concern Hotline, F.R.O.G. (Families Reaching Out Group) and The Free Medical Clinic of Northern Shenandoah Valley, Inc.

“We love irrational generosity,” said Quick. “We have been blessed as a successful business, so it is important to us that we give away that which we have been afforded.”

“It's important that we use our time, money and talents to organizations who make a difference in our community.  We can be the hands and feet of Jesus through our business by bringing awareness to an organization with little or no marketing funds.”
