When Gulf Shores International Airport prepared to launch commercial air service, it needed a complete signage and wayfinding program that could be designed, fabricated, and installed in just six months. FASTSIGNS Mobile Bay partnered with the airport from the earliest stages of construction to create a comprehensive interior and exterior signage system that guides passengers from the roadway to the runway while establishing a polished, professional first impression.
The Challenge
Transitioning from a private aviation facility to a fully operational commercial airport required far more than new signage—it required creating an intuitive passenger experience from the ground up.
Working within an aggressive construction schedule, the airport needed a complete visual communications system that would support passenger navigation, meet safety and security requirements, reinforce the airport's new brand, and be ready for opening day. As construction progressed, plans evolved rapidly, requiring a signage partner that could adapt while keeping the project on schedule.
