Hattiesburg Team Further Recognized with Inaugural Possibility Award

(HATTIESBURG, Miss.) March 19, 2024— FASTSIGNS® of Hattiesburg, Miss., a local custom signs and visual solutions provider owned by Amanda and Justin Blackburn, was recently recognized with multiple awards at the 2024 FASTSIGNS International Convention held in Orlando, Florida.

FASTSIGNS of Hattiesburg, Miss., received the prestigious WhatTheyTh!nk magazine’s Project of the Year Award for the comprehensive signs and graphics they created for Hattiesburg Convention Commission, which sought to honor African Americans in their community with an engaging and impactful memorial. For their work on this project, they also received The Possibility Award, which celebrates bright ideas brilliantly executed. This inaugural FASTSIGNS award honors a project that turns the mundane into the marvelous, epitomizes creativity and problem-solving, and challenges the mastery of the FASTSIGNS’ team to transform a customer’s vision into a breathtaking reality.

“We were thrilled to be recognized as an award-winning center,” said Justin Blackburn. “This award reflects our entire team’s hard work and dedication to helping businesses and organizations solve their visual communications challenges in our community every day.”

FASTSIGNS designed and fabricated the Generations Strong wall, a 375-foot tribute with 77 custom-made backlit panels to tell the moving stories. The show-stopping installation brought history to light, drawing visitors and TV coverage because of the high-impact, stunning visual narrative of historical storytelling.

“They were just as enthusiastic about this project as we were. At no point did they doubt their ability, and that gave me the reassurance that they were the team for the job,” said Latoya Norman, Director of Museums at Sixth Street Museum District. “This has truly exceeded my expectations. It’s absolutely remarkable.”

FASTSIGNS’ work with this project is slated to be featured in the print and digital version of WhatTheyTh!nk magazine’s April 2024 issue.

“FASTSIGNS helped us make our statement by bringing our vision to life,” said Salem Bunkheila, Director of Operations at Hattiesburg Convention Commission. “We’ve had thousands of visitors and it’s something that the community is really proud of.”

FASTSIGNS® of Hattiesburg is located at 2902 Hardy St. in Suite 60 and is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
