Meet Our Team

Ted Schouten has owned FASTSIGNS® London East since 1997. Prior to joining FASTSIGNS® London East’s he successfully owned and operated DeSigns Your Sign Source for 15 years. His practical approach to problem-solving, strong technical background, and attention to detail continue to shape how the business operates. Active in both the London Chamber of Commerce and the Sign Association of Canada, Ted is known for being straightforward, dependable, and hardworking. As a hands-on owner, he remains involved in all aspects of the business, from initial concept through production and installation, with a consistent focus on delivering work that meets and exceeds client expectations.

Lynda was a silent partner for many years and has overseen the FASTSIGNS® London East’s finances for the past nine years. She brings both organization and steadiness to the operation, keeping the business running smoothly behind the scenes—whether that’s managing the books, ensuring the team is taken care of, or occasionally organizing a team lunch.

Ted and Lynda have been married for over 36 years and are blessed with eight children and more than twenty grandchildren. They enjoy spending time together as a family, enjoying God's creation outdoors, and time on the water. Both are active in their church and in local Christian education, where Ted serves as an elder.

Looking ahead, Ted and Lynda continue to focus on strengthening FASTSIGNS® London East’s role as a trusted partner to their customers by effectively serving as a reliable resource within their clients’ organizations through thoughtful, practical, and results-driven sign solutions that improve visibility and brand awareness. They value steady growth, both for their team and for the businesses they serve, and are guided by the principle found in Micah 6:8: “He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God.”

Trudy has been part of the sign industry since 1995 and joined FASTSIGNS® London East’s in 2002, working closely with owner Ted Schouten.

As Production Manager, she oversees vinyl production operations, ensuring quality, efficiency, and consistency across projects.

She holds a 3M Advanced Installer Diploma and brings decades of experience and leadership to the team.

Outside of work, Trudy has been married to her husband Wesley for 35 years and is the proud mother of two sons, Jacob and Justin.

She enjoys singing with the Ingersoll Choral Society, scrapbooking, wine tasting, reading, and spending time with family—and is affectionately known as the shop’s Butter Tart Queen.

A Fanshawe College Marketing and Graphic Design grad with 13 plus years of sign industry expertise, Katie is the perfect blend of artist and technician. As a 3M Advanced Installer, she masters everything from wide-format printing to laser engraving, ensuring every design is as functional as it is beautiful.

When she’s not educating clients or adding her signature sparkle to a project, this busy mom of two is likely traveling, or playing dodgeball and baseball. And yes—as our resident Cupcake Fashionista, she’s still making our team events a whole lot sweeter!

It goes without saying, we appreciate her delightfully creative baking flare (Cupcake Fashionista) for birthday celebrations and events!

Spencer joined the FASTSIGNS® London East’s team in 2019, working in many areas of the shop: starting with design and print, and moving to CNC operation and fabrication. With his combination of experiences, he is now able to design and plan large-scale projects, with efficiency and ease of production at the forefront. Welcoming of new challenges, he is also keen on sharpening old workflows, and pushing the limits of his creativity to solve problems. One of his favourite aspects of working in the signage industry is the opportunity to blossom across several disciplines, under one roof (from artistic, technological, and organizational skill building). Another would be seeing the impact of his team's efforts everywhere he goes, across Ontario.

Spencer has a background in martial arts, photography, and messing around computers. In his spare time, he enjoys tinkering with old electronics and attempting repairs, or modifications. He also has a deep interest in sound design, synthesizers, and loves to build things. One of his favourite ways to spend his free time, is by taking unplanned camping trips up north, alongside his wife and adventure puppy Rowan.

Jocelyn joined the FASTSIGNS team in 2019, bringing a refined blend of creativity and technical expertise from her background in the printing industry. Now celebrating six years with the company, she has developed a deep mastery of the signage world, navigating its complexities with ease and insight.
What Jocelyn finds most rewarding about her work is the opportunity to partner with clients to bring their unique visions to life. She takes great pride in transforming eye-catching ideas into tangible realities, utilizing a wide array of signage and decor products to provide effective, high-quality solutions.

In Jocelyn’s own words, "I’ve learned quickly that this industry is always evolving, and I love the challenge of staying ahead of the curve to ensure our clients get the best results."

Outside of the shop, Jocelyn is the proud Mom of two amazing children. She stays inspired through her personal passions for cooking, gardening, and the intricate craft of jewelry design.

With over 27 years in the industry, Daren Jarvis isn’t just a salesperson—he’s a sign veteran who has seen it all. Known to many as "DJ The Sign Guy," Daren’s approach is built on a simple "superpower": finding the right solution, no matter what. Whether it’s navigating a complex installation or recommending an outside-the-box option, Daren prioritizes his clients' needs above a sales quota.

Daren’s journey has taken him across Canada, from running his own successful sign business in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, to managing a Fastsigns center in Victoria, BC, for 14 years. Since joining the London East team six years ago and moving into outside sales, his expertise has earned him top-tier global recognition, including Fastsigns International Platinum, Gold, and Silver sales awards.

When he’s not saving the day for local businesses, Daren is likely at the karaoke mic or spending time with his wife of 35 years and their two dogs.

Marlene joined the FASTSIGNS London East team in September 2025, but her experience around the industry spans much further back. Having grown up in the world of signage, she possesses an intuitive understanding of visual branding that only comes from childhood spent in her family’s sign shop.

As a Customer Service Representative, Marlene is the bridge between a client’s goals and the final product. She is deeply proud to work alongside such a talented group of professionals. Her favorite part of the day is watching the team’s collective hard work bring a customer’s vision to life.

Marlene’s unique blend of industry heritage and dedication to service ensures that every client who walks through our doors feels supported, heard, and inspired.

With over 12 years of dedicated experience in the sign industry, Randy is a seasoned professional who brings a wealth of technical mastery to the FASTSIGNS London East production floor.

Randy has spent the last two years as a core member of our team, where his reputation for precision and quality precedes him. He isn't just a technician; he is a passionate sign maker who treats every project as a craft. From complex installations to intricate fabrication, Randy’s deep understanding of materials and methods ensures that every sign leaving our shop meets the highest standards of durability and design.

His decade-plus of industry knowledge allows him to tackle unique challenges with ease, making him an invaluable asset to both our team and our clients.

With a career spanning 23 years in the sign industry, Will is the veteran backbone of our installation team. For the past 10 years, he has been a dedicated member of the FASTSIGNS London East family, ensuring that our clients' projects are completed with absolute precision and care.

Will thrives on the challenge of complex installations, enjoying the unique problem-solving that comes with every site. He is a firm believer in "keeping busy," and his proactive approach means he is always moving, refining, and perfecting the final placement of our work. Whether he is navigating a difficult height or a high-pressure deadline, Will’s two decades of expertise ensure that every job is done right.
