How Custom Visuals Transformed a Legacy into a Motivating Athlete Experience

The Challenge:

UMS-Wright Preparatory School, an independent co-educational prep school in Mobile, Alabama, sought to transform its varsity football locker room from a plain, gray space into a high-impact environment. The school aimed to honor their storied history, including multiple state championships, while creating a professional atmosphere to motivate current athletes. The objective was to balance celebrating decades of tradition with providing a modern facility that reinforces pride and unity among players and prospective recruits.

The Solution:

FASTSIGNS® worked closely with UMS-Wright from design concept to installation, developing a visual narrative that combined heritage and modern branding. High-resolution, floor-to-ceiling wall wraps using specialized 3M materials transformed static cinder block surfaces into a dynamic storytelling environment. These large-scale graphics used historic imagery to instill a sense of legacy in current players, providing a professional, collegiate-level appearance that reinforced the school’s prestigious brand throughout the facility. To create visual depth, dimensional PVC and acrylic lettering were integrated to highlight the school prayer as well as motivational quotes in the locker room and cafeteria. Custom photo PVC and acrylic panels were mounted with standoffs to showcase athletic excellence while a functional magnetic board was installed in the weight room to allow for easy milestone updates. A strategically placed dimensional coach’s quote at the locker room exit helped ensure athletes were inspired immediately before taking the field.

management, they created a collegiate-level, immersive environment and also reinforced team pride and values, helping to motivate current and future generations of athletes.
