University Creates a Splash with Larger-Than-Life Graphics

The Challenge

Recognized as “America’s Best College” in the South for over 10 consecutive years by U.S. News & World Report, Jacksonville University built a new Basketball Performance Center and hired a new head coach to re-energize it’s athletic program. It was a perfect time for the university marketing team to explore new visual possibilities, and their vision was to create a branded environment that would excite, inspire and energize the players and staff who use the facility daily.

The Solution

FASTSIGNS® leveraged the branded elements of Jacksonville University Athletics and transformed them into larger-than-life signage. On the exterior, dimensional letters of various materials and finishes made the location noticeable from all sides of the building, and a high-impact exterior window graphic brought their signature dolphin symbol to life with a large-format vinyl installation. For the interior, large-scale vinyl wraps in the main space, coaches’ offices, and weight rooms really embraced school pride and spirit. To give the visual impression of a “halo” of light, Halo Lit dimensional letters were used to create an eye-catching focal point. Branded ADA graphics ensured compliance. With sleek design all around, the signage experts used translucent vinyl to create a layered effect to contrast the opaque vinyl and keep the modern environment visually interesting.

The Result

Custom graphics helped the Jacksonville University achieve more than they thought possible by enhancing the overall training experience for the basketball players and team. The comprehensive solution also helped the school truly capture their new head coach’s energy and positioned the school to attract top talent to the program.
