Branded Graphics Refresh Manufacturing Facility and Processes

The Challenge

Facility’s management, at what Procter & Gamble considers to be one of it’s state-of-the art plants, wanted to graphically brand, guide and inform employees by identifying various manufacturing lines, providing wayfinding solutions and overall enhancing the employee experience. The size of the facility is a mammoth 2.5 million acres, so large graphic formats would be essential to creating attention and impact in this mega facility. The goal for signage was to embrace the plant’s goals of productivity – and distinguish each brand – in a facility that prides itself on cutting-edge automation and design.

The Solution

FASTSIGNS® formulated visual applications to help the client maximize productivity at the plant. One way they did this was to identify the multi-product manufacturing lines using a color-coded system with applied vinyl as they maneuver the vast space with room label signs to designate specific rooms. To motivate and inspire employees, a blank stretch of wall above the employee lockers was transformed with bold, branded graphics. FASTSIGNS brightened an area above the employee restrooms by applying wall graphics that featured other Proctor & Gamble products in a creative, geometric layout. Additional aesthetic elements at the plant included product- branded door graphics and colorfully branded wall graphics in the employee office area and production space.

The Result

The Swiffer® beautification and identification project has helped clearly define each assembly line and area. It has also enhanced wayfinding around the building while inspiring and instilling a feeling of “ownership” for employees who bring these #1 brands to life.
