Patrick Pennell Transforms Sales and Athletic Background To Serve Clients
(JACKSONVILLE, Flo.) August 31, 2021 – Patrick Pennell, an Outside Sales Professional at FASTSIGNS® of Jacksonville, FL - St. Johns Bluff, recently received the 3rd Annual Catherine Monson Salesperson of the Year Award at the 2021 FASTSIGNS®/SIGNWAVE® Virtual Outside Sales Summit.
The Catherine Monson Salesperson of the Year Award recognizes an Outside Sales Professional who best represents the spirit of the FASTSIGNS® brand, in their local business community, in their center and within the FASTSIGNS network.
Pennell originally came to FASTSIGNS six years ago with a background in sales. He has continued to hone his skill set at FASTSIGNS and year over year, his team has witnessed his exceptional growth. With a healthy workplace culture that has been cultivated by franchisee Todd Helfer, this team at FASTSIGNS has become like a family.
"We get along so well", said Pennell. "We continue to grow. There's no turnover at our location, so we really excel in our communication with each other".
When he started at FASTSIGNS, Pennell had never worked in the signage industry, but he wasn’t going to wait until he gained knowledge before acting. He decided to learn as he went forward, and Pennell quickly began working to achieve goals by getting as many contacts as possible, reaching out to as many people as he could, sharing what he did and letting them know how he could help them.
“I pride myself on my quick response times,” shared Pennell. “I want to impress the person reaching out to me. For me, quick and efficient communication is how I earn the business.”

In addition to his exceptional selling skills, Patrick Pennell shared that he played on a touring beach volleyball league prior to his career in sales.
“I think that the reason I’m driven in sales is from the competitiveness I gained through athletics, and that’s why I want my kids to be involved in athletics,” said Patrick Pennell. “When you aren’t able to play the sport someday, you need something to challenge yourself with and I’ve turned that over to my career. Athletics and physical fitness work is valuable for translating into other areas of your life.”
Pennell and his team are looking forward to new growth as they work toward becoming a licensed contractor. They plan to start an electrical department to create channel signs and permitting.
“I’m really passionate about new construction, and I can’t wait to grow this new division we are creating here at FASTSIGNS,” said Pennell.
