When UofL Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky, underwent an ownership change, the entire hospital campus needed to replace all of their signs and graphics to reflect their new brand messaging and look. FASTSIGNS® worked around the clock to remove the old signs and graphics with the previous branding, and install the newly created custom signage.

“The organization was pleased to return to the name they had previously established, as they had a longstanding reputation for expert emergency care, top-notch cancer treatment and research, and really caring about their patients ,” said FASTSIGNS’ Susan Cilone.

Updates were quickly made to monument signs on the multi-building campus, as well as to 53 boulevard pole banners. 87 feet of red striping window graphics was added to the main entryway and a 16’ x 58’ banner was hung from the main hospital pedway.

Inside, the message, “It’s a brand new day,” was installed on 11 elevators. Other rebranding throughout the hospital included floor graphics, wall murals, dimensional letters and indoor acrylic signs.

UofL Hospital’s visual rebranding was executed quickly and smoothly, resulting in minimal disruption to hospital operations. The new signs, graphics and messaging helped provide a feeling of unity with the staff while communicating to patients that they are in trusted, capable hands.

“The rebranded graphics helped create a positive attitudinal shift and communicated to the public that a welcome change was occurring,” said Cilone. “Upon completion, patients, staff and visitors were visually greeted with a completely new hospital brand and new messaging”.
