Franchisee, Lane Pence, Incorporates Eco-Friendly Methods in his Cincinnati FASTSIGNS center

(CINCINNATI, OH) June 4, 2019 - With a firm commitment to sustainable manufacturing processes, FASTSIGNS® of Cincinnati, OH - Highland Ave., has recently introduced the HP Latex 500 series wide format printer into their workflow and will no longer utilize traditional solvent-based print technologies that emit VOCs.

In addition to improved lead times and print quality, the new printer will help meet growing demand from schools, institutions and businesses that are seeking more environmentally-friendly sign solutions. The new sign printer is also energy-star rated and can be applied for LEED credits. HP Latex Technology carries a wide range of credentials addressing the full spectrum of health and environmental concerns from ink chemistry and indoor air quality—for both print production and display—to lifecycle considerations that earn recognition for products as environmentally preferred overall. These products are better for printing companies and print operators, the end customer and the environment.

HP Latex Technology has fundamentally changed the environmental profile of signage, decoration and textile printing. With an end-to-end approach, HP continues to set the standard for more sustainable large-format printing. Recognized as one of the most sustainable companies in the world, HP has the commitment and the scale to address current—as well as anticipated—environmental requirements, and to continue leading the change in signage printing.

“We are always looking for ways to improve our environmental footprint, and this wide-format latex printer investment is a win-win,” said Lane Pence, franchisee at FASTSIGNS® of Cincinnati, OH - Highland Ave. “It creates better air quality for our team, increases productivity and allows our customers to get high quality signs that do not off-gas like traditional solvent-based technologies.”

Unlike solvent printing technology, which creates a thick layer of ink that completely covers the material, HP’s water-based Latex Inks preserve the look and feel of the media, while delivering odorless prints that are both safe for the environment and the printer operator.

This eco-friendly technology will enable FASTSIGNS® of Cincinnati, OH - Highland Ave. to continue providing wide-format sign products for retail displays, conference exhibits, commercial building signage, and event graphics, including signs, banners, wraps and posters.
