(GREENVILLE, NC) December 3, 2020- FASTSIGNS® of Greenville, NC recently named Matt Williams as its Center Manager. In his most recent role as General Manager of Shine Factory Car Wash, he drove sales and profitability with his keen attention to details, a dedicated eye on Profit & Loss and strong personnel management skills.
“In order to succeed in any business, I believe you must have good people, a great product and great processes. I never asked anyone on my team to do something I wouldn't do myself,” said Matt Williams. “I also believe that in order to keep morale high, you need to speak on a level playing field with your employees.”
Williams has been in the car wash industry since 2004. He began as a part-time towel boy drying off cars as they came off the production line and worked his way up to eventually become a General Manager, overseeing 4 sites. In 2014, he decided to purchase his own car wash business, which he lifted out of bankruptcy. Within the first 18 months, he increased the revenue stream and car counts by double digits, making it profitable for the first time since its inception. He sold that business in 2018 and started the Shine Factory Car Wash with his business partner. As Managing Partner, he had complete oversight of the entire company and its operations.
In 2015, Williams also started a construction company in Greenville, NC. He was a subcontractor for Mammoth Signs, now FASTSIGNS® of Greenville, NC, where he grew the company’s Book of Accounts from only five accounts in the first year to 125 accounts by year three. He eventually sold that company in 2017 to Mr. Handyman, a national franchise based in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
With a strong aptitude in social media, Williams plans to use Facebook for brand exposure and short story videos educating customers on what services they offer or could provide. He will also use other platforms for community outreach.
“I love the footprint and model of FASTSIGNS,” said Williams. “I used FASTSIGNS as my exclusive sign vendor when I owned Shine Factory Car Wash, and I like the creative side of the business as well.”
