Each year New Country 96.3 hosts Hawkeye and Michelle’s 10,000 for the Troops, a card collection where they collect Christmas Cards to send to soldiers who are not able to come home for Christmas. This year was FASTSIGNS® of Richardson’s second year participating and collecting cards. They set up a collection tray at the front of the center and printed internal and external signs advertising the collection.
This drive holds a special place in their hearts, since the center owner served in the Military as well as his son and several family members. Franchisee Darrin Lawrence served 22 years in the U.S. Army and Army National Guard, and then retired from the Army Reserves in 2009 as an E7. His son, Casey Lawrence, served 6 years in the Army and was deployed to Afghanistan and Iraq each for 12 months at a time.
This tradition not only fosters a sense of gratitude and appreciation but also helps bridge the distance between home and the deployment locations where these brave men and women are stationed. In 2023, the drive hit a record number of cards collected at 152,869 cards! The team at FASTSIGNS thanks their customers who donated cards and all of North Texas for making this a successful event year after year.
