FASTSIGNS® of Lancaster, PA recently partnered with United Way of Lancaster County and Lanc Co MyHome to quickly complete and reveal Refresh Lancaster to the public.
A project eight years in the making, sponsored by Lanc Co MyHome and funded by the 2020 Cares Act, FASTSIGNS joined the efforts to create and install a trailer wrap for the 22-foot “Refresh Lancaster'' mobile hygiene unit. The unit houses two private shower stalls and a private space for either a social worker or emergency medical technician to meet with clients.
FASTSIGNS employees were involved in the project and also provided social media support. Wes Kauffman, franchisee at FASTSIGNS, was invited to speak during the "Ribbon Cutting" event on November 19. The event took place on the ExtraOrdinary Give day, a concentrated giving effort day in Lancaster on which the community raised over $15 million for local organizations.
“This project has been so exciting to me, and I was eager to get involved,” said Renee Daniels, Project Manager at FASTSIGNS® of Lancaster, PA. “What stood out to me was the time and effort it took to get this project completed, and our team was thrilled to help carry the baton into the final stages.”
The mobile unit provides free showers as well as health services to the homeless, and it is set to travel to specific sites to operate for four days weekly within Lancaster County. It is currently the only trailer that provides showers and medical services within Pennsylvania. The health services are made possible thanks to the assistance of Lancaster EMS,
