FASTSIGNS® of Orlando, FL - Central, a local sign and visual graphics company owned by Renee Friedman, received the “Show Us How You Care” Award for the second year in a row at the 2018 FASTSIGNS Annual Convention. This award is a part of the FASTSIGNS Cares philanthropic initiative and recognizes FASTSIGNS franchisees who demonstrate significant charitable giving efforts in their communities throughout the year. In conjunction with the award, a donation of $1,000 was made on behalf of FASTSIGNS® of Orlando, FL - Central to their charity of choice: Friends of Down Syndrome.
“As our business continues to grow, we love being able to give more and more back to our community and perpetuating the cycle of good in the world,” said franchisee Renee Friedman. “2017 was our best year ever, and it was important to us pay it forward and seize opportunities to sponsor events, volunteer, donate money and signage, and offer special pricing on our products. I am inspired by causes that are dear to my heart and my family.”
Based in Houston, Texas, Friends of Down Syndrome was founded to create lifelong education and learning opportunities for teens and adults with Down syndrome through education, socialization and community outreach. FASTSIGNS® of Orlando, FL - Central has supported the organization since its founding in 2013 through signage donations and discounts, sponsorships and participating in the annual Cinderella Ball.
Other community organizations and philanthropies FASTSIGNS® of Orlando, FL - Central has worked with include Compassionate Hands and Hearts Breast Cancer Outreach, Susan G. Komen, the AutoNation Cure Bowl, Habitat for Humanity, Harry P. Leu Gardens, the Jewish Community Center of Greater Orlando, Orlando Day Nursery and Best Buddies Florida, among others. Additionally, Friedman was named Best Buddies Florida’s 2017 Community Champion of the Year for helping the organization raise over $10,000.
