(LINCOLNWOOD, IL), May 21, 2019 — FASTSIGNS® of Lincolnwood, IL sponsored the annual Young Evanston Artists event that showcases the work and performances created by grade-school and middle-school students in Evanston.
YEA! strives to reflect the diversity of the City of Evanston and is committed to celebrating it via the arts. Community initiatives like YEA! teach the value of art in preparing youth to thrive and provide a forum for the exhibition and performance of art for the children of Evanston with the help and support of public and private schools, their teachers and PTAs, the city of Evanston, the business community individuals and the families of YEA!
This was FASTSIGNS’ first year participating as a sponsor for YEA, but they have a longstanding tradition of supporting community events. FASTSIGNS® of Lincolnwood, IL also provided discounted signs to be displayed around the community as well as social media promotion.
“When we've attended this event in the past, we've seen how meaningful it is for students to see their work on display,” said Elizabeth O’Connor, franchisee at FASTSIGNS of Lincolnwood. “They and their families are so proud, and you can tell that this event encourages students to do their best in school.”
The O’Connors have been residents of Evanston for over 20 years, and their children attended Evanston public schools. This is a cause that’s personally close to Elizabeth O’Connor, since her children have participated in this specific event with their artwork included in the past.
“It is a wonderful end-of-school year program featuring student art selected by their school's art teachers in an outdoor community festival setting. The event organizers invited us to participate this year, and we were happy to help,” said O’Connor. “As a sign business, we provide a very valuable service in improving the visibility of the companies we work with. We can extend those services to nonprofit organizations which helps them achieve their mission more successfully. It's very satisfying to help them in this regard.”
